BAILEY REAGAN

I’m Bailey Reagan, a positive psychology trained life optimization coach, workshop facilitator, community builder, and speaker championing others on their path towards well-being.

Me.

I champion others on their path towards well-being.

I’m Bailey Reagan, a positive psychology trained life optimization coach, workshop facilitator, community builder, and speaker championing others of their path towards well-being. My journey to positive psychology and this work began during my junior year at Ithaca College where I read two strikingly different books - The Happiness Project by Gretchen Rubin and Ishmael by Daniel Quinn. Despite their differences, these books supported me in recognizing two very important things:

1) We control our happiness and our well-being.
2) Happiness and well-being looks and feels different to everyone.

Once I understand these two lessons, I knew that I had to make it my mission to help others design a personal and professional life that is meaningful to them, one that is abundant in the factors that define their unique vision of happiness and well-being.

Because of this, I dove head, heart, and feet first into books, videos, courses, and classes. I received my Master’s of Applied Positive Psychology from the University of Pennsylvania and learned the history, theory and research methods of positive psychology, as well as its application in professional settings. I later earned my Certificate of Applied Positive Psychology from the Flourishing Center and honed my skills within the more practical application of positive psychology tools and interventions. These credentials, along with my strengths, have allowed me to practice positive psychology on a macro-level within higher education, professional membership associations, and early stage start-ups. I’m currently working towards my Applied Positive Psychology Coaching and Associate Certified Coach certification from the Flourishing Center and the International Coaching Foundation in order to work on an individual level with clients to help help them craft the personal and professional lives they truly desire.

When I’m not wrapped up in lengthy discussions about the good life and supporting others on their well-being path, I’m drinking mezcal (or too much coffee), eating my way through any menu, watching The Office, dancing to Macklemore, or hanging out in downward facing dog. To learn more about me and my work as a life optimization coach, workshop facilitator, community builder, and speaker, you can poke around this website, read my blog, or connect with me on LinkedIn. COACHING.

COACHING DEFINITION AND PROCESS

"Coaching helps people articulate their vision, identify their needs and core values, bring their inner and outer worlds into alignment, set goals they feel passionate about, and create a plan for their own personal and professional development." As a coach, I ask empowering, curious, and sometimes difficult questions to help my clients build their capacity, expand their resources, and achieve greater fulfillment. Through my supportive and edgy coaching style, I provide a sacred and collaborative space that encourages my clients to dig deep, take risks, and flourish. I am committed to partnering with my clients to develop action plans that take them from where they are to where they want to be. In order to have a successful coaching relationship with my clients, I do not provide advice, therapy, or skills education.

LIFE OPTIMIZATION COACHING

My coaching practice is rooted in the science of positive psychology. Positive psychology is the scientific study of optimal human functioning that aims to discover and promote factors that allow individuals and communities to thrive. (AKA positive psychology is the scientific study of what makes life fun, meaningful, and worth living.) These factors include: positive emotions, engagement, relationships, meaning, achievement, and vitality. I focus on coaching clients who want to optimize these areas of their life and become more intentional about their well-being. (Why? Because I know what it’s like to feel stuck, to feel like you’re at the bottom, and to feel like you can’t possibly be happy again. I’ve gotten to the other side and know that you can, too.) Life optimization coaching topics I specialize in include: improving daily habits (exercise, nutrition, sleep, time management, etc.), transforming relationships (friends, family, partners, co-workers, etc.), finding balance, enhancing spiritual practices, building personal businesses, transitioning careers, uncovering purpose, and making any sort of small or large behavioral change.
